L'auteur

Nancy Kilpatrick est née à Philadelphie aux États-Unis en 1946 mais fut naturalisée canadienne dans les années 70.

L'auteur a écrit plus d'une quinzaine de romans et 200 nouvelles. Elle a également écrit le scénario d'oeuvres graphiques et d'oeuvres théâtrales. Elle a écrit sous divers pseudonymes, dont Amarantha Knight et Desirée Knight. Elle est également l'auteur de plusieurs oeuvres de non-fiction, dont le livre "The Goth Bible: A Compendiun for the Darkly Inclined". Elle s'implique également dans l'édition d'oeuvres anthologiques. Elle a gagné plusieurs prix, dont le Arthur Ellis Award en 1993 pour sa nouvelle "Mantrap". Elle fut également en nomination pour plusieurs prix. Le thème récurrent de la plupart de ses écrits demeure le vampirisme.

Elle demeure présentement à Montréal, au Québec, où elle continue à écrire et à s'impliquer dans la communauté "gothique" et "dark". Elle offre également des cours de rédaction et des ateliers, spécialisés dans le genre vampirique et fantastique.

Et bien, c'est un peu difficile pour moi de te lancer sur cette lecture... Très ambivalente dans mon appréciation... C'est fait, j'ai terminé mon deuxième article... enfin... c'est entre les deux. Pas une mauvaise lecture mais rien de très emballant, non plus ! Mais si tu ne lis qu'un seul roman de l'auteur sur le thème des vampires et bien je te recommande celui-ci!
